Motors & generators for the electrified future
A key technology to accelerate the green energy transition
Hagnesia’s novel technology for direct drive generators and motors enables extremely compact and efficient drive train solutions for low speed applications. While using the same materials as conventional machines, the patented electromagnetic design gives a unique lightweight and scalable design which saves up to 90 % of the raw material, including critical raw materials (CRMs).
This lightweight machine will unlock technology leaps in renewable power production and zero-emission transportation.
Our Technology
x10 times more resource efficient
The Hagnesia motor/generator is built from conventional materials but with a novel and patented electromagnetic design which enables a modular and extremely material efficient construction of the machine.
From the raw material needed to build one conventional low speed direct drive motor or generator one can build 10 equivalent Hagnesia machines.
Our Technology
Minimizing critical raw material use & supply chain risk
To succeed in the green energy transition, EU has identified a number of critical raw materials (CRMs), which are of high economic importance due to scarcity and high supply chain risks. Technologies enabling electrification, such as wind power and electric vehicles are especially highlighted, as the supply of both crucial raw materials and key components are concentrated to only few countries, all outside EU.
By saving up to 90 % of such critical raw materials, and thus also enabling massing indirect material savings, the Hagnesia technology will help de-risk and accelerate the green energy transition.
Our Technology
Enabling electrification in transportation
Electrification is the key for building more sustainable transportation systems. This will require efficient, compact and lightweight drivetrains. Conventional motors struggle to deliver on this for the low-speed RPMs typically needed for transportation (such as a boat propeller or wheel axis). This is why they often use a gearbox, adding both weight, losses and complexity to the drivetrain.
The Hagnesia direct drive motor enables an efficient and compact solution which will save both space and weight, which can help increase range and/or payload.
